T E V Display in Evesham Library - June 2010
This is the start of the TEV Raising Awareness campaign in co-operation with the staff of Evesham Library, where a selection of relevant books have been brought together from within the existing Library collection and put alongside explanatory information about the Transition objectives within the Vale of Evesham. TEV is currently looking into ways of funding that would enable Evesham Library to offer an even wider selection of relevant books and DVD films to borrow in the future.
March 2011 - TEV will be putting on 2 displays in Evesham Library to coincide with the National 'Climate Week' Campaign March 21st to 27th, where a selection of related books as well as Transition Literature will be made available. |

Transition in Action - Totnes and District 2030 - an Energy Descent Action Plan
'Transition in Action' is the the UK's first comprehensive Energy Descent Action Plan designed for and by a local community.
Running to over 300 pages and printed in full colour, it also includes some detailed research, such as 'Can Totnes and District Feed Itself?' and a full Energy Budget for the area. It opens with a detailed oral history of Totnes in the 1950s, asking what lessons from an energy constrained future can be learnt from an energy constrained past. Packed with humour, imagination and ideas, the Totnes EDAP is the perfect antidote to environmental gloom and doom, showing that peak oil, climate change and the bursting of the debt bubble need not be seen as a crisis, rather as a huge opportunity for entrepreneurship, creativity, community, enhanced resilience and a greater quality of life.
